During December 2015, we hosted an array of exciting festive activities to create the perfect build up to Christmas for our visitors of all ages.

Children were able to send a special message to Father Christmas by making paper teacup and teapot decorations in the Decorating Studio, and created their very own Snow Crystal Christmas Wishes. These were then hung on the World of Wedgwood’s magical indoor willow tree ready for Father Christmas’s elves to collect.

On the 5th and 6th December 2015, World of Wedgwood invited visitors to have a go at throwing their own pot free of charge, in association with BBC’s Get Creative: Hey Clay!. Hey Clay! is a national event which ran from 4th - 6th November 2015, and encourages people across the country to get creative with clay and throw their own pot. It was an incredibly successful event, and over 80% of our visitors decided to keep their pot and have it fired, to keep as a souvenir. Who knows, maybe a future Great Pottery Thrown Down contestant was among them!

On Monday 16th November 2015, World of Wedgwood team representatives attended the Enjoy Staffordshire Awards at Drayton Manor Theme Park, and we’re incredibly proud to announce that we won three awards! Best Tourism Experience of the Year Gold Award, Tea Room/ Coffee Shop of the Year Gold Award and the Taste of Staffordshire for the Wedgwood Tea Room Silver Award. These achievements have automatically submitted us into the Visit England awards which will take place in London in March 2016.

During October half-term 2015, World of Wedgwood took part in the national creative event ‘The Big Draw’. The Big Draw encourages people of all ages and abilities to get their creative juices flowing and create their own master-pieces using crayons, pencils, paint and much more!

With the October half term culminating in Halloween this year we could not resist giving a spooky twist to our half term events! Wedgwood’s magical Fairy Lustre design proved to be the perfect theme for some eerie family activities.
