FAQs


Q: What are your opening hours?
A: World of Wedgwood is open between 10am and 5pm Monday to Sunday. Our Dining Hall opens at 9.30am every day and our Tea Room opens at noon. The Wedgwood Tea Conservatory opens at 10am. The last request for Afternoon Tea is 4pm.

The Factory Tour is open Monday to Friday only, 10am to 4pm with last entry at 2pm. There are also special events and demonstrations at weekends throughout the year; visit the events page for details.

For seasonal variations check the opening times page for any changed to the standard opening times.


Q: Is World of Wedgwood accessible to wheelchair users?
A: Yes all areas of World of Wedgwood are accessible to wheelchair users. There is a walkway from our car park to the World of Wedgwood Atrium (where our main reception is located) and this is completely flat. We have two lifts taking visitors up to the Factory Tour and Master Craft Studio. There are also seating areas located throughout the Wedgwood Museum and Factory Tour for anyone wishing to take a rest on their way round. There are also ramps in certain areas to ensure easy access for visitors with limited mobility.


Q: Are dogs allowed on site?
A: Dogs are allowed within World of Wedgwood’s courtyard and grounds but are not permitted to enter the Atrium, Wedgwood Museum or Museum Shop, Factory Tour, Flagship Store, Tea Conservatory, Tea Room, Dining Hall or Outlet Store. Only assistance dogs are allowed into these areas. There are water bowls for dogs located around the courtyard area.


Q: Do you allow Assistance Dogs into World of Wedgwood?
A: Yes Assistance Dogs are welcome across our whole site, both indoors and out.


Q: Do you have allocated parking for Blue Badge holders?
A: Yes we have 8 spaces designated for Blue Badge holders, which are clearly marked and are located at the closest point to the buildings on site.


Q: Is there somewhere to park at World of Wedgwood?
A: We have ample free parking here and there is no time limit for how long visitors can park.


Q: Are there any restrictions on access to your car park?
A: If accessing World of Wedgwood from Barlaston Old Road a height and weight limits apply on the canal bridge – the maximum height is 2.3m (7’-6”) and the maximum weight is 5T mgw. Please note that this is also a single lane bridge.


Q: Is World of Wedgwood family friendly?
A: Yes absolutely. Our whole site is accessible for those with pushchairs, we have baby changing facilities located across our site and World of Wedgwood has been designed with families in mind. As well as indoor and outdoor play areas we offer a range of activities for children and families and there is a special children’s menu available in our Dining Hall as well as a children's afternoon tea option.


Q: Can I pre-book for any of the creative activities?
A: No, you can not to pre-book to take part in any of our creative activities (Master Craft Studio or Decorating Studio). If the areas are particularly busy, you will be allocated a time slot on the day of your visit.


Q: Do you offer any accessibility aids?
A: We have 4 wheelchairs on site, which are available for complimentary use by our visitors with restricted mobility. You can book these in advance by calling us on 01782 282986 or alternatively ask at reception on the day of your visit.


Q: Do you cater for those with a hearing impairment?
A: We have hearing loops located at our till points in the Reception Atrium, Retail and Dining areas to assist those with impaired hearing.


Q: Do you have toilet facilities on site?
A: Yes we have three separate toilet areas; these are located in the World of Wedgwood Reception Atrium, the Dining Hall and the Wedgwood Museum. All toilet areas have accessible toilets with wide doors and baby changing facilities. All accessible toilets have safety chord and handles fitted.


Q: Can I dine at World of Wedgwood?
A: Yes we have three dining areas to choose from – our Wedgwood Tea Conservatory and Tea Room offers brunch, lunch and contermporary English afternoon tea, our Dining Hall offers a traditional all day menu.


Q: Do I need to book to dine at World of Wedgwood?
A: It is highly recommended that you book in for an afternoon tea in the Wedgwood Tea Room in advance, however it is not compulsory. Please be aware that tables are subject to availability if you do not book in advance. You can book a table by calling us on 01782 282986. It is not generally required to book in the Dining Hall unless it is for a special occasion or for large groups (12 or more) – for example we offer special menus throughout the year, such as for Mother’s Day, Easter and Christmas, and these must be booked in advance.


Q: Are your dining areas easy to access?
A: Yes they are. The Wedgwood Tea Room and Tea Conservatory are in the same building in close proximity to each other, located just through the Wedgwood Flagship Store. The Dining Hall is located across the courtyard and there are ramps situated nearby for wheelchair users and those with push chairs because the gradient of the courtyard slopes slightly.


Q: Do you offer concessions on your standard entry charges?
A: Visitors over the age of 60, students with a valid NUS or ID card and children aged 12 - 16 years are eligible to visit World of Wedgwood at a concessionary rate. Carers are admitted free of charge and free entry is also given to children under 12 years old.


Q: Do you offer guided tours?
A: Guided Factory Tours are available Monday to Friday. These cannot be pre-booked and are available at regular intervals throughout the day; however it is advisable to arrive early to avoid disappointment. They operate on a first come first served basis, allocated on arrival, and last around 1 hour. For those not taking a guided tour there is visitor guide to be used along with the information boards on the tour route. All museum visitors will also recieve a Museum map to guide them through the galleries.


Q: Am I allowed to take photos while on site?
A: You can take photos in all areas of World of Wedgwood apart from in the Wedgwood Factory.


Q: What payment methods do you accept?
A: Cash and card are accepted methods of payment. For groups of 12 people or more, we accept company or group cheques. For more information about payment methods, please contact [email protected]
