This summer visit World of Wedgwood for a great day of discovery! From fun creative activities to Factory Tours where you see and learn about the production process, to our children’s Museum trails with a prize for every child and a summer nature walk through Hem Heath Woods.

Don’t forget there’s free Museum entry for everyone, every day and free Factory Tours for under 12s Monday – Friday.

Create: Pot Throwing, Pottery Painting and Ceramic Design
Three creative activities for children (and adults!) to choose from, available every day from 10am. With all of the activities you make a unique souvenir of your visit. There’s no need to book, all creative activities are run on a first come, first served basis, arrive early to avoid disappointment.

1. Learn how to throw a pot on the potter’s wheel in our Master Craft Studio, with help from our skilled team choose from seven different styles to produce your own pottery masterpiece! Approximately 15 minutes, £10 for firing and collection. Recommended for ages six and upwards, children must be tall enough to safely reach the wheel to control the clay.
2. Get creative and draw your own design to be transferred onto a piece of Wedgwood, choose from different sized plates, mugs, cups and saucers. Using pencils, crayons and felt tips you can let your imagination go wild, using inspiration from Wedgwood designs, to create a piece of art to be treasured forever. Allow at least 30 minutes, prices from £15.00 for a fully fired, dishwasher safe piece.
3. Younger visitors especially will love our Pottery Painting activities, choose from clay cut out shapes including hearts, flowers and stars; and plant pots and vases. Allow 30 minutes, from £3.50.

Explore: the Factory Tour, Museum Trail and Nature Trail
The award-winning Factory Tour is available Monday to Friday and is free for under 12s! Take a guided tour to discover how Wedgwood is made and see the craftsmanship in action. Guided tours can be booked in advance or on arrival and are subject to availability.

The Wedgwood Museum is free entry for everyone, every day 10am to 5pm. Discover the history of over 260 years of ground-breaking design and production. Younger visitors can take the Pottery Spotters trail which will guide them through the UNESCO recognised V&A collection, with a prize for every completed activity sheet.

Explore Hem Heath Woods as you stroll the network of paths and discover the trees, woodlands birds and wildflowers that inhabit this Staffordshire Wildlife Trust nature reserve. Download their leaflet here woodland walks take around 25 minutes. A prize for every child who completes the trail. Summer nature trails can be collected from reception for a £2.00 donation to the trust.
