Sorry you missed it! Our event history is here...

Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 October 2019

Performances | Talks | Workshops

On the final weekend of the BCB Festival the 22 Hands event will culminate in an interactive residency where artists Duncan Hooson and Stephanie Buttle will be working within the site-specific installation they have created. Here, they invite the public to come and join in with their thinking and making as it happens. There will be opportunities for people to get involved with making, movement, and gesture all directly relating to the artists processes.

Sunday 15 September 2019

11am - 4pm | Free drop-in session

Connecting to others through making, mapping and combination

Drop-in throughout the day with CJ O’Neill and associate artists and become a part of her Clay Network for the British Ceramics Biennial 2019. Working with a 3D clay printer the artists involved will print silhouettes of visitor and staff faces as digital clay objects. By combining both profiles and recording first names the process encourages a curiosity and a finding of another who we may otherwise not have met.

Sunday 8 September 2019 | 10am to 4pm

Join us for our monthly market on the second Sunday of every month, with over 50 stalls, inside and out, full of fine foods from local producers and hand crafted products.

Saturday 7 September – Sunday 13 October 2019 | Free Entry

British Ceramics Biennial (BCB) is the UK’s premiere contemporary ceramics festival that takes place in Stoke-on-Trent. BCB presents art-works from the UK’s leading ceramicists alongside international artists, in exhibitions and special events held across the city.

Artists Duncan Hooson and Stephanie Buttle have come together to create 22 Hands, an exhibition, performance, workspace and intervention at the World of Wedgwood, home of the world renowned Wedgwood factory and the award winning Wedgwood Museum.  The title 22 Hands refers to the number of hands that handle a pot during its factory production process.
